Women’s Ministry of Emmanuel Temple Assemblies of God – Kumasi hold kidney health lecture

Kumasi, Ghana – June 12, 2026 — More than 100 women from Emmanuel Temple Assemblies of God in Kumasi participated in an informative kidney health lecture aimed at increasing awareness of kidney disease, its risk factors, prevention, and the importance of early detection.

The lecture which was held during their monthly gathering on June 12, 2026, was delivered by the Programs Manager of Kidney Health International, Mr Sylvanus Gatorwu who delivered a practical and engaging presentation on maintaining healthy kidneys through lifestyle changes, proper nutrition, adequate hydration, regular exercise, and routine medical screening.

Participants were educated on common causes of kidney disease, including high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as warning signs that should prompt early medical attention. The lecture also emphasized the importance of avoiding the misuse of painkillers and herbal medications, which can contribute to kidney damage.

Speaking after the event, the Programs Manager of Kidney Health International reaffirmed the organization's commitment to promoting kidney health awareness through community outreach, public education, and preventive screening programmes across Ghana.He emphasized that early detection and healthy living remain the most effective strategies for preventing kidney disease and reducing the growing burden of chronic kidney conditions in the country.

The event attracted over 100 women, who actively participated throughout the session. Many attendees asked thoughtful questions on kidney disease prevention, healthy diets, medication safety, and the importance of regular kidney function checks. The interactive discussion reflected the participants’ keen interest in learning more about protecting their kidney health.

The Head Pastor of Emmanuel Temple Assemblies of God, Rev. Attah Fosu, was present throughout the program and expressed his appreciation for the insightful presentation. He commended Kidney Health International for bringing essential health education to the church and noted that such initiatives play a vital role in improving the well-being of church members and the wider community.

Speaking after the program, several participants described the lecture as timely, practical, and life-changing. Many expressed a strong desire for additional health education sessions covering kidney health and other important health topics. They appealed to Kidney Health International to return and organize similar educational talks in the future.
