The Kidney Health International has joined the Kessben Multimedia to spend time with the aged in Kumasi. The event, which is an annual one is organized by the media company to provide breakfast and lunch with the aged while providing them with pieces of cloth and other goodies to mark the yuletide.
This year, the Kidney Health International joined the program to educate the over 600 aged men and women who were gathered on prevention of kidney disease and healthy lifestyles.
Speaking to the hundreds gathered, the programs manager, Mr Sylvanus Gatorwu educated them on the causes of kidney disease. He also urged them to take very good care of themselves, especially in the area of their diet.
He also touched on other lifestyle habits that promotes good health.
The teaming crowd asked lots of questions with respect to kidney disease, diabetes and hypertension which were answered.
The programs manager and two other volunteers who graced the event sat to check the blood pressure for the attendants. It will recalled that in May 2023, the kidney health international collaborated with the Kessben Multimedia to educate a similar gathering on hypertension and had their blood pressures checked.
Kidney Health International is committed to providing education to people in Ghana and beyond on prevention of kidney disease, and it does this through its team of volunteers.
In October 2030, director and founder, Dr Elliot Koranteng Tannor trained more volunteers and equipped them with knowledge on the subject of kidney disease and diabetes.
Being the first of such exercises for the organization in the year, the call from Kessben was responded to swiftly. The organization with its volunteers intend to engage the Ghanaian populace more in the year 2024 with health talks on kidney disease prevention.
