With each relevant occassion such as the world kidney day, world hypertension day or world diabetes day, the KHI engages the public throughout the entire month and beyond. Volunteers are trained each year and then equipped with knowledge on the topic for the month and then with the knowledge given, the volunteers engage organized groups throughout the country to provide health education.

This year, the KHI would mark the World Diabetes Day with yet another free health screening and public health education at the Barekese community.

After the training, the newly recuited volunteers expressed their joy at being part of the training and were ready to engage the public with the newly acquired knowledge.

Since its establishment, the KHI has successfully screened a total of over 10,000 people in several communities and reached out to over 5 million people through engagement with churches, mosques, communities, online platforms, television stations and radio networks.

With the current rise in the dialogue about dialysis in Ghana, it is expected that such conversations will ignite even more interest among the citizens to be conscious of their health and this would call for more engagements which would require more personnel.
